Krátošice is historically documented as early as 1250. In 1415, Mikuláš z Krátošic signed a letter of complaint that the Bohemian estates sent to Constance after the burning of Jan Hus.

The cycling tour “Hlubokým hvozdem na hrad Choustník” continues from Brandlín to Krátošice and includes a turn-off to the lookout tower. On this excursion, Route 1183 continues at the junction towards Košice.
The nearest railway station for travelling to Krátošice is Doubí u Tábora on railway line 220, Prague–České Budějovice. From there, an approximately 6-kilometre route via Košice on district roads leads to Krátošice.
