In Křižanov, striking landscapes meet a long-established local history. The Plague Column is Křižanov’s oldest local monument. It bears a statue of the Virgin Mary with the Christ Child and dates from 1678.
Landscape and Water
Vlčí vrch rises to the northeast above Křižanov. The 513-metre-high mountain offers views to the south and as far as the northwest. The landscape also includes the restored Prachov pond in the cadastral area of Křižanov, covering 20 hectares.
The communal draining and fishing of the pond has long been a tradition in Křižanov. The Velký Prachovský pond, located near Křižanov, is a bathing area.
Townscape and Traditions
One of Křižanov’s tourist attractions is a chapel with a small bell tower. The Anenská pouť festival is also held in Křižanov. It includes a dance event on an outdoor dance floor.
Excursions and Connections
The Milevsko–Sepekov–Líšnice–Okrouhlá–Křižanov–Jestřebice–Rozhledna Kupa route is a moderately difficult excursion by bicycle or car and is approximately 17 km long when completed by bicycle.
Křižanov has bus connections to Bernartice and Milevsko.
