Křenovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The area of present-day Křenovice was already settled in prehistoric times; the first written mention of Křenovice dates from 1379. Archaeological finds from the Middle Bronze Age are attributed to the Czech-Palatinate Tumulus Culture.

History and Places of Remembrance

Křenovice lies at an altitude of 470 to 500 metres and approximately halfway between Tábor and Písek. The village’s history includes the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, built by residents of Křenovice in the 1870s. Its original bell bears the year 1874. In front of the chapel stands a monument to those who fell in the First World War, with a commemorative plaque by T. G. Masaryk. The Svatá Trojice wayside shrine is located in the Na Bruse forest.

Culture and Shared Experiences

The Lesní divadlo currently hosts performances by various amateur theatre groups, as well as events for children and adults. There are play features for children and a fire pit where sausages can be grilled. Public fishing is possible at the village pond.

Annual Festivals and Events

The traditional Křenovice Easter Fair offers Easter decorations, Easter lambs, ceramics and flowers. The local female firefighters organise a traditional Christmas trail in Křenovice. Prázdninové půlení is a recurring event in Křenovice featuring firefighting disciplines, refreshments and a foam party for children. Křenovická jízda is a gathering of historic vehicles and an orienteering rally for vintage cars; the event has already been held for the 16th time.
