Hrusova Lhota: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hrušova Lhota displays its distinctive character where the Olšovec pond, with its shoreline vegetation, shapes the central area. The village square also comprises a system of ponds. The Jednotský pond contributes to its design; reeds, cattails, and sweet flag grow along its banks, while six mature pedunculate oaks stand on the dam.

Nature

Among the most valuable green structures in Hrušova Lhota are an avenue of oaks on the dam of the Olšovec pond and three oaks north of House No. 21. The combination of ponds, shoreline vegetation, and old trees is therefore closely linked to the village landscape.

Culture and History

Hrušova Lhota was first mentioned in 1422. From the 15th century onward, Hrušova Lhota, known as Lhota Frydlova, belonged to the Choustník estate. On August 13, 1593, Petr Vok z Rožmberka sold Hrušova Lhota, together with its associated people, villages, meadows, orchards, dues, forests, and an inn, to Jindřich Vrchotický z Loutkova for 1,400 shock.

In 1622, the Vrchotický family's estate was confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain and pledged to the town of Soběslav. In 1636, the estate was sold to Magdalena Vrchotická ze Svárova and subsequently combined with the Lžín estate. On March 9, 1911, Hrušova Lhota was separated from Lžín and was thereafter administered as an independent municipality.

Village Landscape

The architectural features that shape the village landscape include several traditional farmsteads and cottages, as well as a chapel. These include the buildings with house numbers 1, 12, 11, 16, 10, 4, 3, 24, 18, 7, 6, 21, and 25.

Geographical Setting

A road leads to Hrušova Lhota and ends there. A field path from Hrušova Lhota offers a beautiful view of Choustník. Within the settlement area, two existing recreational areas with recreational buildings are designated: one southeast of the settlement and one above the Hliněný pond to the northeast.
