Horosedly: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Horosedly is particularly distinguished by its Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk: it is a cultural monument and the dominant landmark of the village. It was consecrated in 1713.

Culture and History

The villagescape also includes the Baroque chateau in Horosedly, which is part of farmstead no. 1. In the lower part of Horosedly, on the other side of the river, stands a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. There is a niche chapel on the village square in Horosedly.

A memorial plaque commemorating Olympic champion and gymnast Bedřich Šupčík was unveiled in Horosedly in 2003. The Schwarzenbergský dvůr is not open to the public.

Things to Do

A red-marked hiking trail passes through Horosedly. The Mirovice–Orlík cycling route also passes through Horosedly; it is approximately 27.5 km long and suitable for trekking bikes.

Nature

Nerestský lom is a disused limestone quarry with rock and dry grassland vegetation, as well as species-rich communities of animals and plants. Nerestský lom is home to calcareous or base-rich rocky grasslands, near-natural dry grasslands and shrub formations on calcareous substrates, as well as chasmophytic vegetation on calcareous rocky slopes.
