Přeštěnice has a foothill character and already offers a beautiful view from the village itself. The highest hill in the area is Stráže, at 610 metres above sea level; in clear weather, the view from there extends as far as the distant Šumava Bohemian Forest.
Culture
The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the village square of Přeštěnice. It was blessed on 15 August 1883; the first Mass was celebrated there on that day. The altarpiece was created by the academic painter Jan Heřman from Prague.
The Koutník Chapel stands next to House No. 35 in the lower part of Přeštěnice. It was built in 1933 in connection with the reported recovery of František Koutník’s son. In Mlčkov stands a wayside chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sepekov, dating from 1795. In Týnice there is a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Klášter, dating from 1884, while in Držkrajov stands the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, built in its present form in 1907.
History
The first historical mention of Přeštěnice dates back to 1379. Historically, the village belonged to the estates of the Rožmberks, which were connected with Příběnice Castle.

Cycle Route 1059 passes through the Přeštěnice area. Jezdecký klub Bártův dvůr Přeštěnice offers riding lessons for children and beginners under the guidance of experienced, licensed instructors and holds riding competitions every year, including qualifiers for the Zlatá Podkova competition.
The Open Air Music fest Přeštěnice is a regularly held festival featuring music groups. A Přeštěnická pouť, described as traditional, was announced in Přeštěnice for 15 August 2026.
