Hlupín combines sacred buildings, memorial sites and cycling connections with the character of a small settlement. Between the village green, municipal office and the southern parts of the village, there are several specific points of interest where history and regional architectural heritage can be seen.

Culture and history

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the village green in Hlupín. It is a significant urban-planning and architectural element of the settlement. Its exterior and interior furnishings feature vernacular Baroque elements; inside, the chapel has a plank vault and ends in a conch.

Another distinctive site is the heart-shaped memorial stone for an 18th-century French officer. It stands on a large erratic boulder in the southern part of Hlupín and commemorates the officer’s death during the War of the Austrian Succession.

The Chapel of Saint Anne Samodruhá was built in 1832. It is located by the municipal office in Hlupín on the road to Zadní Zborovice. Several noteworthy vernacular architecture buildings add to the character of the village.

Cycling

Cycle route 1064 runs through Hlupín from Mečichov via Hlupín to Třebohostice. A smooth-surfaced road also runs through the village and is used by cyclists and inline skaters.

Another connection is the “Za Christianem Battagliou” cycling circuit. It follows quiet roads or paved paths and is considered not demanding despite some uphill sections.

The surroundings of Hlupín offer beautiful views, particularly to the west and southwest.
