Nature

Dunajovice lies on the edge of the CHKO Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. South of the village rises Dunajovická hora, reaching an altitude of 504 metres and also being the highest point of the Třeboň Basin. From Dunajovická hora, there are views of Třeboňsko, Rožmberk Pond, as well as Veselsko and Ševětínsko.

Culture

The Chapel of the Annunciation stands on the village square in Dunajovice. It dates from 1906 and was built on the site of an older chapel. The chapel is designated as a cultural landmark; its visual appearance is to be preserved.

A wayside chapel from around 1800 stands in Dunajovice between house numbers 42 and 51. On Dunajovická hora, the Stations of the Cross comprise fourteen chapels depicting the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. At the end of the Stations of the Cross is the Chapel of the Holy Cross, built over a spring in 1885.

Things to Do

On Dunajovická hora there is a flooded quarry used for swimming in natural surroundings. The 47-kilometre cycling route “Through the Peaceful Landscape of Lišovsko to the Region of the Třeboň Ponds” also passes through Dunajovice near Dunajovická hora.

Dunajovická hora is accessible by car and offers parking. By bicycle, it can be reached via cycle route 1105.
