The 53-kilometre-long Nežárka Cycle Path runs through Horní Lhota. It is a branch of the South Bohemian long-distance Lužnice–Nežárka cycle route and is suitable for trekking bikes. The Jindřichův Hradec–Nežárka cycle tour also passes through the village.
Landscape and Location
Horní Lhota lies in the valley of the Nežárka catchment area. The village is about 6 km from Jindřichův Hradec in the direction of České Budějovice. Homolka, a mountain, is located in the surrounding area. In the wider regional surroundings of Horní Lhota are the mountains Hůrka and Cihadlo. V Tichém lese [Dolní Žďár u Lásenice] is a hill in the immediate vicinity of Horní Lhota.

History and Culture
Horní Lhota was first mentioned in 1340. The village was formerly also called Ovesná and became a settlement of Dolní Žďár in 1869.
In the wider regional surroundings of Horní Lhota are Landštejn Castle, the Church of Svatý Ondřej, the Geyersteine monument and the Lunkowitzkreuz shrine. Krupičkův mlýn was located at Horní Lhota 6 on the Nežárka. A small hydroelectric power station now stands at the former site of Krupičkův mlýn.
