Frahelž: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Frahelž is bordered on its eastern side by the Lužnice River. Its floodplain includes old fragments of the original river channel, floodplain forests and floodplain meadows. The town is also located in the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Třeboňsko).

Frahelž is home to the Nadějská soustava Site of Community Importance (SCI). Frahelž also offers long walks between ponds.

History and Culture

The history of Frahelž dates back to the 14th century; the first written mention of the town dates from 1549. Frahelž is home to the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk.

A traditional communal singing event is held at the chapel. Near Frahelž, there is also a former mill associated with the tradition that Jan Žižka was treated there.
