České Chaloupy is a settlement with scattered development, characteristic of the western and southern Blanský les. Blanský les is characterized by gently rolling horizons, preserved nature, and the historic structures of villages and scattered hamlets.

Settlement and Landscape

The Na pohodu guesthouse is located in the cadastral area of České Chalupy, within the Blanský les Protected Landscape Area, and is open year-round.

Hiking and Cycling

The “Hřebenem Blanského lesa” route is a moderately difficult ridge tour and offers numerous views of the surrounding landscape.

The “Křemežskou kotlinou” circular trail passes through České Chalupy. The route leads via Sedm Chalup and České Chalupy to Nová Ves. The hike can be shortened and can partly follow the ridge.

In addition, the CZ12.3 Holašovice–Lhenice stage of the Zlatá stezka passes by České Chalupy. There are numerous marked cycling routes in the surroundings of České Chalupy. The development plan provides for a regional cycling route from České Budějovice via Holašovice, České Chalupy, Kuklov, Smědeč, Chroboly, Jelemek, Prachatice, Vlachovo Březí, Malenice, Volyně, and Sušice, numbered 121.

Skalka is a mountain in the immediate vicinity of České Chaloupy. Vrata, Kleť, and Chlum are mountains in the surroundings of České Chaloupy. Chlumany, an ancient site, is located in the surroundings of České Chaloupy.
