Ceska Kubice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

From Česká Kubice, there are views across the Šumava. Čerchov rises above the village; at 1,042 m, it is the highest mountain in the Český les. At Na Skále, a sharply defined quartz ridge that runs through the Český les emerges at the surface.

Landscape

In the immediate vicinity of Česká Kubice lies the protected natural monument Sokolova vyhlídka, covering an area of 3.5 ha and featuring an outcrop of a quartz ridge. Česká Kubice is also one of the starting points for visiting the Český les Protected Landscape Area.

Activities

International cycle route No. 3 from Prague via Plzeň to Regensburg runs through Česká Kubice. A considerable section of this route in the Česká Kubice area has been developed as a cycle path. Two blue-marked hiking trails connect or run between several prominent points: one connects the state border, Česká Kubice, and Babylon, while another runs between Česká Studánka, Čerchov, and Pec pod Čerchovem.

The 11-km-long Devil’s Nature Trail also runs in the immediate vicinity of Česká Kubice. With 21 stations, it is particularly suitable for hiking or mountain biking. A red-marked hiking trail known as “Horizontálka” leads from Česká Kubice.

History and Culture

The Furth im Wald–Domažlice–Plzeň railway line has run through Česká Kubice since 1861. Railway line No. 180 through Česká Kubice connects Plzeň and Domažlice with Germany.

The Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Česká Kubice and Horní Folmava is listed as an immovable cultural monument. In the pre-war period, the area around Česká Kubice and its districts was an important tourism center, known as a “health resort” because of its climatic location.
