Culture and History

The traditional Štichov pilgrimage to Saint Margaret is celebrated in July. The square village green is also one of the defining features of the village: it is lined with houses that give Štichov a distinctive character.

A hexagonal chapel stands on an artificially raised hill at the village green. Its pyramid roof is crowned by a bell tower with a dome; it also has a cast-iron bell dating from 1826.

Next to the chapel, a monument commemorates the 10th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. The Štichov monument bears a bust of T. G. Masaryk. The former school building in Štichov, dating from 1912, is considered historically valuable. The Czech school in Štichov was closed on 14 February 1942 because of the low number of pupils, just 16 children.

Activities and Nature

A traditional Easter Nordic walking march takes place in Štichov. Signposted cycle route No. 2029 passes through the village, while no tourist-marked hiking trail leads through Štichov.

Visitors can pick blueberries, mushrooms, blackberries and cranberries in the forests around Štichov.
