Němčice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Němčice showcases both historical traces and natural landscapes. After the expulsion of the German population in 1945, Němčice was completely resettled with 55 settlers from Chod villages. Throughout its history, the village was located within the domain of Horšovský Týn.

Villagescape and landscape

The local water reservoir was extensively restored in 2018. In Meclov’s land-use plan, “Náves v Němčicích” is considered an urbanistically valuable area.

The specific landscape areas include Pod Borkem and U Němčic. Pod Borkem is an extensively mown, near-natural wet meadow in a flat valley bottom on the edge of the forest. U Němčic is an extensively mown, near-natural mesic meadow on a gentle slope at the edge of the village.

Borek is a stand of pine trees around a low ridge, with occurrences of common juniper and alpine wintergreen.

Culture

In nearby Domažlice, the Chodský Museum also includes Chodský hrad. For more than half a century, the Chodské slavnosti have taken place every year in August in Domažlice.

The registered archaeological area “Němčice – mohylník V od obce” lies in the cadastral areas of Němčice u Třebnic and Jeníkovice u H. Týna.
