Zemětice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the village green of Zemětice stands a Classicist chapel dedicated to Saint Lawrence. It dates from 1822. Several farmsteads around the village green have vaulted gateways, while mature chestnut and linden trees line the village green.

History

The first written mention of Zemětice dates from 1115. Within the built-up area of the village lies an archaeological site assigned to the period from the Middle Ages to the modern era, as well as to the transition from the Late Middle Ages to the modern era. The atonement cross of Zemětice is a monolithic stone approximately 70 cm high.

Other historic structures include the chapel at Mlýnský rybník, which dates from 1855.

Nature

Zemětice lies on the banks of the Merklínka River. Below the village are a pond and a former mill. Drahovský rybník is located northeast of Zemětice. Drahovák is now used as a natural outdoor swimming pool with a sandy bottom and a clean inflow from a forest spring.

The Chalupská Štěpánka lookout tower stands alone on a gentle hill, 400 m from the settlement of Chalupy in the municipality of Zemětice, on a field path between Čelákovy and Chalupy. To reach the lookout tower, take the road from Zemětice towards Chalupy; parking is available about 100 m from the tower. The lookout tower is accessible by prior telephone arrangement.

In summer, music events take place on an open-air dance floor above the Dražský rybník body of water.
