Újezd u Svatého Kříže combines landscapes, village history, and cycling opportunities with distinctive features: from Berounka Nature Park and a Baroque church to a village museum and several designated cycling and mountain biking trails.

Nature

The cadastral area of Újezd u Svatého Kříže lies within Berounka Nature Park. The nature park protects the preserved landscape character of the Berounka Valley, with rock outcrops, adjacent forests, agricultural land, and historically valuable village architecture.

In the western part of the cadastral area lies a Bronze Age burial mound field of the Milavčer culture. In the southern part of the municipality, a European white elm is listed as a memorial tree.

Culture

The Church of the Holy Cross (“Kostel sv. Kříže”) was built in 1777 in the Baroque style. The single-nave building has a rectangular, closed-off presbytery and a tower forming part of the western façade. Its furnishings include altar paintings and vault paintings by the painter Karel Mašek.

Another notable structure is the niche chapel in Újezd u Svatého Kříže. It consists of a plastered rectangular structure, a semicircular vaulted niche, a triangular gable, and a gabled roof covered with tiles.

The “Svaťácká sednice” village museum in Újezd u Svatého Kříže is open to visitors. Svaťácká sednice is a room where household items and objects from the domestic environment have been collected. It also includes a room with a small exhibition of memorabilia commemorating Karel Gott.

Cycling and trails

The yellow hiking trail through Újezd u Svatého Kříže is 7.5 km long and has an elevation profile of 184 m. The “Zelený okruh” cycling route runs directly through Újezd u Svatého Kříže and is 6.5 km long. “Velká Radná” begins in Újezd u Svatého Kříže and follows the stream of the same name to Darová.

Újezd u Svatého Kříže also has a mountain bike trail park with several trails of varying difficulty levels and lengths. “Svaťácké zastavení” is a village park with a rest area suitable for cyclists. The 1.5-km “Svaťák” mountain bike trail is a loop on which a local race is held every year.
