Plískov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Plískov, village history and wooded landscapes meet tangible traces of local life. A chapel dating from 1849 stands in the village square; it is registered as a protected cultural monument under ÚSKP number 27572/4-2566.

History and Local Life

In 1377, Plískov was a Kmetcím farm owned by Jan Drahoň of Újezd. In 1585, the village was sold to Ladislav the Elder of Lobkowicz and thereby became connected with Zbiroh. While Dr. Strousberg owned the Zbiroh estate, iron ore was mined in Plískov.

The more recent history of the village also bears distinctive traces: an Eneolithic stone hammer was found in the built-up area of Plískov in 1914. The Plískov monument to those who fell in the First World War was created by Vojtěch Havíř, a stonemason and sculptor from Radnice. Beekeeping used to be practiced in Plískov; it continues there to this day, although now only by a few beekeepers.

Landscape and Trails

The wooded surroundings of Plískov belong to the Radečsko–Křivoklátská vrchovina uplands. The area around Plískov is home to Hřeben and Holý vrch hills, the ruins of Valdek and Týřov, the churches of U Svatého Petra and Svatý Martin, and the Beran and Hejlák hills.

A circular hiking trail in Plískov passes by old log houses. Along the circular route, next to the chapel, there is a pond covered with water lilies and equipped with a rest area. Plískov has three protected oak trees. The composer Josef Poncar stayed in Plískov.

Events

Běh Bukovem is an annual running festival held as part of the Brdský běžecký pohár. The 45th Běh Bukovem is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, and is intended to be held as the third edition within the Brdský běžecký pohár. The route runs across meadows, forest roads, and footpaths in Bukov and Plískov.
