Těškov lies in a hollow open to the southeast and is surrounded by forests.

Landscape

Mount Hřeben is located in the vicinity of Těškov. The mountains Hlava, Beran and Holý vrch are also in the surrounding area. Iron ore was mined near Těškov on Mount Radeč.

History

The first written references to Těškov date from the 14th century. Hrad Radeč is mentioned in 1343 in connection with Oldřich de Mitterwald from the House of Litice. The Hrad Radeč archaeological site in Těškov is considered an important archaeological locality. At the former castle site, an arched ditch, an earth rampart and small wall remains have been preserved.

The Zřícenina Valdek ruins are located in the wider regional area around Těškov. The Týřov ruins are also situated in this wider regional area.

Culture

A characteristic wooden bell tower stands in Těškov's village square. There is also a signpost for hiking trails, and the marked cycle route 2153 connects here as well.

Těškov has a rare, well-preserved polygonal wooden chapel with a memorial cross. It documents this type of construction in the rural area of the Rokycany District. The chapel dates from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The memorial cross standing in front of the chapel probably dates from the second half of the 19th century.

Rural homestead No. 21 in Těškov comprises a residential house, a barn, stables and a group of sheds. The Church of Saint Martin and the Church of Saint Peter are also located in the vicinity of Těškov.
