Ejpovice combines a protected palaeontological site with traces of medieval rule, industrial history and distinctive cultural monuments. It is also home to the Ejpovice Reservoir, publicly accessible green spaces and regional cycle route 2124.
Nature and Landscape
Ejpovické útesy is a 1.9483-hectare natural monument that has been protected since 15 April 1993. It preserves a palaeontological site with fauna from the Lower Ordovician, the oldest known autochthonous occurrence in the world of organisms from the surf zone.
The municipal plan designates the Klabava Valley, the Ejpovice Reservoir and the adjacent forests as significant areas of publicly accessible green space. The Ejpovice Reservoir is also listed there as a significant body of water with recreational potential.
History and Culture
Hrádek, also known as Starý zámek, stood opposite the village of Klabava near Ejpovice and was the seat of almost all the Lords of Ejpovice. Only a small part of the castle masonry has survived from Hrádek; the name “K Starému zámku” has also been preserved.
The intensive mining of iron ore began in Ejpovice in the 17th century. A water-powered hammer mill was also built there to serve the Horomyslitz ironworks. The Chapel of St Wenceslas was built in 1904 and consecrated to Saint Wenceslas on 28 September 1904.
The Vodní tunely u Ejpovic are regarded as an attraction and technical cultural monument. Services are held every Sunday in the Chapel of St Wenceslas in Ejpovice, which also frequently hosts concerts of classical and Gothic music. A village chapel is located on Hlavní Street.

Regional cycle route 2124 runs through Ejpovice. The Ejpovice Reservoir is designated in the municipal plan as a significant body of water with recreational potential.
