Raková

Raková reveals its history in tangible places. The former manor farm at No. 10 houses a listed timber-framed granary. The stately two-storey wooden building measures approximately 33 × 14 metres. The first written mention of Raková dates back to 1319; until 1848, the village belonged to the Šťáhlavy estate. In the past, an ablution pond was also used in Raková.

A memorial was erected in Raková’s village square in 1921 to commemorate seven men who fell in the First World War. A tourist route also passes through the village. Raková is located near the Kornatický potok Nature Park.

Radyně is a mountain in the vicinity of Raková. In the wider regional area lie the mountains Nad Moráskem, Praha and Hlava, as well as Zřícenina Valdek, a ruin.

The Church of Svatý Martin is located in the vicinity of Raková. In the wider regional area, there are also Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral and the Church of U Svatého Petra. The Kotel observation tower was built in 2014 and officially opened on 10 May 2014.
