Dobřív combines a preserved testament to ironworking with marked trails and historic buildings.

Culture and History

The Vodní hamr Dobřív is the main attraction, a fully functioning technical monument dating from the late 19th century. An exhibition there presents ironworking in the Podbrdsko region and the ironworks industry in Dobřív. The Hamernický den also takes place every year on the third Saturday in May in the grounds of the Vodní hamr national cultural monument in Dobřív.

The Pamětní síň Jindřicha Mošny is another cultural point of interest in the village: the exhibition was established in 2005 in a house that had previously been occupied by his wife's family. The Beranova chalupa is also notable for its excellent state of preservation. The Švédský kamenný most in Dobřív is a single-arch bridge made of rubble stone spanning the Padrťský potok.

Landscape in the Surrounding Area

The mountains Hlava, Praha, Jordán and Hřeben, as well as the Svatý Martin Church, are located in the vicinity of Dobřív. In the wider regional area are the Zřícenina Valdek ruins, the Týřov ruins and the U Svatého Petra Church.

Hiking and Cycling

A yellow-marked KČT hiking trail begins in the village square of Dobřív and leads north into Trhoň Nature Park. A blue-marked hiking trail leads from the village square of Dobřív to Švédský most and then through an avenue to the Vodní hamr.

Dobřív lies on long-distance cycle route number 3, which connects Regensburg and Prague. Cycle route 2251 leads directly from Dobřív into the hills of the Brdy Protected Landscape Area.
