Úboč: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of St. Nicholas in Úboč is a single-nave early Gothic church from the 13th century. In the second half of the 14th century, a new chancel and a sacristy were added. During the Baroque reconstruction, the Chapel of St. Anne, with an oratory and a stair extension, was built in 1763.

Culture and History

In the parish garden, the remains of the Úboč fortress have been preserved as horseshoe-shaped ditches and ramparts; in places, they are up to 5 metres high. The site of the fortress is listed in the archaeological register under the name “Úboč - kostel Sv. Mikuláše a tvrziště” in Category I.

Several remarkable examples of vernacular architecture have also been preserved in Úboč. These include a masonry granary built from the masonry of the demolished Church of St. Wenceslas.

Landscape

The Jehlíkova lípa commemorative tree stands in Úboč. It is located on the dam of the pond above the mill and is approximately 350 years old.

Běleč is a mountain in the vicinity of Úboč. Spálený vrch is a mountain in the wider regional surroundings of Úboč. The nearby hills also include Pupky [Všepadly] and U vlčí jámy.

Hiking and Cycling

A green-marked hiking trail is 15.5 km long and leads from the ruins of Netřeb via Úboč to the Koráb lookout tower. In addition, the blue-marked Chudenice cycling circuit runs through Úboč between Němčice and Všepadly; the circuit is approximately 55 km long.

Transport Connections

A Class III road passes through Úboč. The connection to a higher-class road is located in Němčice; there is no railway in the village.
