Sedliště Nad Úslavou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Several tangible reminders of the village’s history can be found in the village square of Sedliště: in front of the chapel stands a memorial cross with a cylindrical shaft, while at Farm No. 30 there is a grain store built using a log construction method and featuring characteristic exterior cladding. The first documented written records of Sedliště date back to 1552.
Culture and History
Outside Sedliště, a former manorial farm stands on a slope above the road; a small pond lies beside it. The history of Sedliště is also closely connected with the fortunes of the monastery below Zelená Hora.
The former school building from the 1920s–1930s now houses the Sedliště municipal office. Its impressively designed façade has been newly restored.
Landscape
The built-up area of Sedliště lies in a predominantly agricultural landscape with a high proportion of forest. Čížkovský potok flows along the southern edge of the administrative area and joins the Úslava near Srby.
Paths and Transport
A marked hiking trail runs along the northwestern edge of the cadastral area of Sedliště nad Úslavou through the Doubrava forest complex (Bábin vrch). The entire administrative area is crisscrossed by field and forest paths that form suitable tourist routes.
The published cycling route “Za výhledy přes hory a doly” also passes through Sedliště; it then continues via Srby and along CT 31.
Road III/17717 runs northwards and provides a road connection between Sedliště and other municipalities in the surrounding area. Sedliště is also served by bus services.
