Soběkury: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A concrete testament to Soběkury’s local history is the reconciliation stone: a granite block with a four-armed cross carved into it. It marks the place where a travelling weaver was robbed and killed.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Soběkury is a late Baroque, octagonal central-plan building with a domed roof and lantern. It was built in 1826–1827 at the expense of the municipality. At the eastern edge of the Kvíčová forest near “U rybníčků” stands the memorial stone for Jakub Rada, approximately 3 km west of Soběkury. It commemorates Jakub Rada, who was killed by a tree in 1704.

Cycling and Winter

The cycle route known as “Dětská” runs between Dnešice and Merklín through Soběkury. Cycle route 2185 from Přeštice to Staňkov passes through Soběkury at kilometre 8; a duration of 113 minutes is specified for this cycle route. Soběkury also has a downhill run for skiers and tobogganers.

Forest Paths

Near Soběkury, a path approximately one kilometre long leads to Jahodový vrch. The path follows a forest track suitable for individuals and families with older children, but it is not designed for pushchairs. Jahodový vrch is located in the forest and offers no wide views of the landscape because of the surrounding trees.
