Sedlec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Sedlec combines a rural estate and a distinctive log house with a history dating back to the 13th century. It is also home to a 26.8-kilometre cycle route connecting the village with several stops in the surrounding area and beyond.

Culture and History

House No. 6 in Sedlec is home to a rural estate with a residential building and stables. There is also a log house with a gabled façade, a granary and a covered gallery. Since the 13th century, the history of Sedlec has been closely linked with the villages of Bukovina and Řemešín, which together formed a historic administrative district.

Individual houses also bear witness to the village’s past: Vojtěch Prusík was born in 1515 at House No. 4 in Sedlec. The village centre of Sedlec u Kralovic is classified as Category I. Three stone crosses still stand at Křížky. According to local tradition, they commemorate two young men and a girl who died after an argument.

Geographical Location

In the immediate vicinity of Sedlec are Na Babce [Kralovice-Bukovina] and Pod Březinou [Potvorov], both hills. Březina is one of the hills east of Sedlec. In the wider regional area, Berdovna and Vladař are classified as mountains. Also located there are Zřícenina Lina and Týřov, which are ruins, Svatý Prokop, a monument, and Svatý Martin, a church.

Cycling

The 26.8 km-long cycle route 2261 runs from Tis u Blatna via Žihle, Přehořov, Potvorov, Sedlec, Mariánský Týnec and Kralovice to Lednice.
