Líté: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Líté combines a small, forest-rich landscape with a history dating back to 1175. In a deed of donation from that year, Prince Soběslav transferred an area containing the villages of Líté and Lomnička to Plasy Monastery. The village lies in a small hollow through which a stream flows and is surrounded by forests.

Landscape and Nature

Manětínsko Nature Park extends to the western edge of Líté. Natural attractions include Zelené jezírko, a local biocentre in the cadastral areas of Líté and Dolní Bělá. Zelené jezírko is considered a unique geological natural site. It has also been proposed that it be designated a protected natural monument and that the former tourist access be restored.

History and Industry

Historically, Líté was connected with Bělá Castle for several centuries and was also owned by the Lažanský family. Overgrown spoil heaps in Líté recall the former vitriol and kaolin industries. After a kaolin deposit was discovered west of Líté, the new estate owner Sigfried Klein and his business partner built a kaolin processing plant near the road to Spankov. A vitriol works was also part of Líté’s industrial history and was incorporated into the J. Starck enterprises in the second half of the 19th century.

Culture and Events

The amateur theatre ensemble Úžas Líté was founded in 1981 and is part of the amateur theatre scene in the northern Plzeň region. Every year, ÚŽAS organises the dance evening “Josefovský jarní vínek” and a traditional carnival procession through Líté.

Activities

ÚŽAS also organises a motor touring competition aimed particularly at parents and children. The playing time at the multi-purpose sports ground in Líté can be booked in person or by telephone with the grounds manager.
