Krašovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Krašovice combines an important Baroque monument with a settlement shaped by streams and a large pond. The most significant monument in Krašovice is the Baroque Church of St. Giles, built in 1778.

Culture and History

At the eastern edge of the village, near House No. 38, are the remains of the Krašovice fortress, with faintly preserved traces of the fortifications and a rampart.

The cultural programme is also closely connected with the village. Ateliér Krašovice regularly organises exhibitions and opening receptions in the attic of the municipal office. Weekend workshops on artistic and craft techniques, led by specialist instructors, are also held there. Ateliér Krašovice also offers art courses led by MgA. Petra Krausová, attended by children and adults from Krašovice and the surrounding area.

Landscape

Krašovice lies at the confluence of the Bělá and Brodský streams. A 5.8-hectare pond divides the village into the two parts of Ves and Bojiště.

The regional road from Plzeň to Manětín runs through Krašovice.

Cycling and Hiking Trails

The 54-kilometre cycling route “Do lesů plných borůvek” runs through Krašovice. The section of the Železná trasa from Plasy Monastery to Krašovice is 10.2 kilometres long.

A special local event is the traditional Krašovická jízda přes velký rybník. Participants attempt to cross a 125-metre-long bridge over the pond, which is only 10–30 cm wide, on bicycles.

Events

The KROSÁČEK children's group performs at various cultural events. The KROS theatre association performs in surrounding villages as well as in the local hall of the Krašovice Community Centre. The Krašovice Volunteer Fire Brigade organises a Masopustní průvod every year.
