Kralovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Parish Church of St Peter and Paul in Kralovice brings history to life through tangible details. First mentioned in records from the mid-13th century, it was remodelled by Florian Gryspek between 1575 and 1581. The Gryspek family crypt is located beneath the side chapel. The exterior masonry of the nave consists of dark red, unrendered bricks; the western entrance has a Renaissance portal.

Culture and History

Mariánská Týnice is a former pilgrimage site and former provostry of the Cistercian monastery in Plasy, which acquired it from its then owner Roman z Týnce in 1230. The pilgrimage complex was built according to plans by Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary has a floor plan in the shape of an isosceles so-called Greek cross. Mariánská Týnice has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964, and in 2018 it was declared a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The Museum and Gallery of the North Pilsen Region in Mariánská Týnice has permanent exhibitions on the historical development of this region. The museum also offers an interactive children's trail called “Muzeem všemi smysly”.

Experiences and Trails

The Kralovice Municipal Outdoor Pool has a 17 × 25-metre pool with a water slide, a water jet and a mushroom-shaped water sprayer. It also includes a children's paddling pool with a slide. A bus runs from Kralovice to Vysoká Libyně, the starting point of the “Cesta slovanských bohů” educational trail.

The hills of Velký Špičák [Kralovice - Hradecko], Homole [Kožlany - Dřevec] and Libyňský vrch [Vysoká Libyně] are located in the immediate vicinity of Kralovice.
