Pocinovice is situated in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest; the surrounding area is predominantly characterized by agricultural and forested landscapes. Historically, Pocinovice was once a privileged village of the Choden people of Domažlice and was first mentioned in 1325.

History and Architectural Heritage

The Church of St. Anne is a prominent landmark of Pocinovice and a late Baroque building. Its tower is topped by an onion dome that transitions at the top into an octagonal lantern. Traditional rural homesteads, often built using the log construction method, have also been preserved in Pocinovice.

Pilgrimage

The Dobrá Voda pilgrimage site near Pocinovice is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. It consists of a main chapel and a smaller chapel with a continuously flowing spring. Dobrá Voda is visited by pilgrims and tourists throughout the year.

From Pocinovice, an excursion route leads via Orlovice and Orlovická Hora (Zlatá jáma) onward to the Jezvinec Nature Reserve.

The surroundings of Pocinovice include Stangenruck, a mountain; Úliště [Javor - Loučany], a mountain; Lovečná, a mountain; and Jägerhübel, a mountain. In the wider regional area around Pocinovice lies the Bayerwald-Tierpark Lohberg, a zoo.
