Culture and History

The museum in the birthplace of František Křižík in Plánice features a modern exhibition. František Křižík, whose birthplace museum is located in Plánice, was an electrical engineer, inventor and entrepreneur. The Church of Saint Blaise was built according to designs by Kilián Ignác Diezenhofer. In the Baroque Church of Saint Blaise, the painting on the main altar is changed several times a year; with its broad entrance staircase, it is a distinctive landmark of Plánice. The Trinity Column in Plánice’s square is an example of regional Baroque stonework and sculpture from the early 18th century.

In nearby Nicov, 2 km from Plánice, you will find the pilgrimage Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, a Baroque work by Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer.

Routes and Activities

The marked red Křižíkova cesta hiking trail starts in Plánice and leads via Nepomuk to Rokycany. The cycling tour “Through the Beautiful Countryside to Plánice” runs from Újezd via cycle route 2082 to Plánice and returns to Klatovy via cycle route 2080.

Plánice’s sports complex has three multifunctional courts with synthetic surfaces and lighting for ball sports. It is accessible every day throughout the year during opening hours. The Plánice Information Centre provides promotional materials and sells souvenirs.
