Černíkov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Černíkov lies at the foot of Mount Malý Kouřim and at the end of a broad, flat valley that gradually rises towards the north. On its eastern side, the valley is bordered by a forested massif on Mount Velký Bítov.

History

The ruins of Ruchomperk Castle in Černíkov are situated in an area of mature deciduous forest. Its ground plan is oval or rectangular; on three sides, it is surrounded by a massive moat and an outer rampart. A transverse moat divides the inner area into two sections. Ruchomperk was probably built at the end of the 12th century on the site of a prehistoric fortification.

The first written mention of Černíkov dates from 1379. The former Černíkov fortress stood by the village pond next to the village square and was last mentioned as deserted in 1592.

The ruins of Pušperk Castle lie on a hill about 2 km from Černíkov; Pušperk was first mentioned in 1266.

Activities

The hilly surroundings of Černíkov are suitable for cycling. The „What lies beyond Černíkov’s homesteads“ educational trail is five kilometres long. A virtual circular route through Černíkov, Pušperk, Ruchomperk and Stará Ves is also marked out in the vicinity of Černíkov.

There are regular bus connections from Černíkov to Kdyně, Domažlice and Klatovy.

Places of interest

Úžlebec is located in the vicinity of Černíkov. The site covers 2.3 hectares, of which 0.8 hectares are water surfaces. Úžlebec is considered a camping site with swimming facilities. Access to the site is currently prohibited; it is closed.
