Svata Katerina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Jižní stezka leads through the Šumava in eight stages, from Vyšší Brod to Svatá Kateřina, and is 192 kilometres long in total.

Nature

The Šumava Natura 2000 site comprises Šumava National Park, the Šumava Protected Landscape Area and part of the Šumava Biosphere Reserve; it stretches from Svatá Kateřina in the Klatovy District southeastwards to Přední Výtoň in the Český Krumlov District.

Mount Stangenruck is located in the vicinity of Svatá Kateřina. The mountains Kronwithöhe, Lovečná and Jägerhübel are located in the surrounding area. The Bayerwald-Tierpark Lohberg wildlife park is also located near Svatá Kateřina.

The PP U Radošína protected area lies within the cadastral area of Svatá Kateřina; a former amphibolite quarry is mentioned there.

Border and Trails

The nearby Svatá Kateřina (Rittsteig) border crossing allows day trips to the Bavarian side and back. Above Svatá Kateřina, the Sv. Kateřina–Rittsteig border crossing can be used.

Parking is available directly at the Svatá Kateřina border crossing. On weekdays, buses run from Nýrsko to the Chudenín and Svatá Kateřina stops, and with limited service also to the Chudenín, Svatá Kateřina, st.hr. stop.

Culture

The Hradčany Hillfort in Svatá Kateřina is designated as a monument. Border stone 15C has no carved and colour-highlighted Bavarian coat of arms on the Bavarian side because the border follows a watercourse there and the Chodská Úhlava forms a meander in the opposite direction.

The Neunussberg castle ruins and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Chammünster are located in the wider regional surroundings of Svatá Kateřina.
