Dolany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Dolany is shaped by several historic sites: the municipality is home to Komošín, a significant archaeological site with a late-medieval castle ruin. The ditch carved into the rock around Komošín is still visible today.

Culture and History

The branch of the Lords of Rýzmberk, who held Dolany until the 15th century, built a water castle in the village. Under the Měsíčkové of Výškov, the manor house in Dolany was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. The Jesuit college in Klatovy expanded the water castle and adapted it for its purposes.

The Church of St Peter and Paul in Dolany was built in 1384 during the Gothic period. The remaining structure after the reconstruction was executed in the Baroque style; the preserved older tower is 32 metres high.

A monument to the inhabitants who fell in the First World War was unveiled in 1920 on the village square in Dolany. The monument to those who fell in the First and Second World Wars in Dolany u Klatov is an object recognised as a cultural monument in 2022.

Meeting of the Dolaňáků

The programme of the Meeting of the Dolaňáků included performances by brass bands, creative workshops for children and abundant refreshments throughout the event. During the XXIII Meeting of the Dolaňáků, individual visits to the church were possible from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
