Mlýnské Struhadlo: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Mlýnské Struhadlo is located in the Plánický hřeben Nature Park and combines a small-scale landscape with notable traces of history and regional architectural culture. Forests, agricultural land and small bodies of water form a mosaic; the Úslava is the locality’s watercourse. Road transport is crucial for access, while the area is also particularly attractive for cycling tourism.

Nature and Trails

The area has numerous historic paths. The nearby Flosmanův mlýn is also located in the surrounding area and is considered an interesting destination for walks. Flosmanův, Komendův mlýn is situated 2 km north of Mlýnské Struhadlo. The mill has a turbine that generates electricity.

Culture and History

The chapel of Mlýnské Struhadlo is a vernacular Baroque building from the second half of the 18th century. It has a square ground plan, a high pyramid roof and a roof turret with a bell. As a village chapel, it is the area’s only registered immovable cultural monument. The area also contains small sacred structures, including chapels, memorial crosses and wayside shrines.

The historic settlement was laid out around a circular village green; eight founding families built their residential and farm buildings around it. The earliest written mention of the settlement and Struhadlo Mill dates from 1379. In 1421, Hussite troops passed through Strhadlo on their march from Plánice to Žinkovy. There is no functioning water engine at Struhadlo Mill.

Summer and Sports

A multi-purpose pool in Mlýnské Struhadlo is used as an outdoor swimming pool in summer. Sports courts for beach volleyball, nohejbal and football are located near the multi-purpose pool.
