Předslav: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Předslav, the oldest written mention of the Church of St. James the Greater dates back to 1325. František Palacký was married there in 1827. The church is a protected monument.

Culture and History

The Tvrz Fortress in Předslav was probably built as a moated castle in the 14th century and was first mentioned in 1483. During the Renaissance, it was converted into a small chateau before being extended in the Baroque style in the mid-18th century.

The Chapel of St. Apolena in Předslav is a simply designed Baroque chapel dating from 1726.

The Sokolovna in Předslav was ceremonially opened on 29 January 1923. It stands on the remains of a former local fortress and is now used for various sporting and cultural events.

Memorial Sites

The Měchura family tomb is located by the northern boundary wall of the cemetery in Předslav. Around the turn of the 20th century, it was moved here from a disused cemetery chapel and is the final resting place of the composer Leopold Eugen Měchura.

The approximately 42-kilometre cycling route “Z Klatov za romantikou do Žinkov” runs from Měčín via Předslav to Točník.
