Milíře: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the center of Milíře, the Church of St. Peter and Paul is a prominent landmark. It is used by the Orthodox Church and thus characterizes a place where visible history and religious life come together directly.

Culture

In the historic village center, next to the church, there is a monument to those who fell in the First World War. Milíře is also characterized by numerous wayside shrines and stone crosses: many of them stand directly in the village, while others are scattered throughout the surrounding forests and meadows.

History

A medieval country road from Bohemia via the border castle of Tachov to Bärnau in the Upper Palatinate and onward to Nuremberg ran through the area of today’s municipality of Milíře.

Landscape

The surroundings of Milíře include forests, ponds, and wetlands. Remains of the former pond now called Mlejňák have also been preserved in Milíře. The two villages of Milíře lie between the Lužní and Sklářský streams.

Trails

Milíře has tourist trails for pedestrians and cyclists. The surrounding area is a popular destination for long walks and bike rides among residents of nearby Tachov.

Halfway to Zadní Milíře, a field path branches off and leads past the Hruškovna hamlet to the impressive Oborské hájence, situated in the middle of the forest. From Oborské hájenky, you can continue along the Branka educational trail.

Milíře is connected to Tachov by bus.
