Dubec: Holiday Apartments and Houses
Dubec showcases its history in a specific location: the Church of St. Michael the Archangel features two construction phases from different periods, one Gothic and one Baroque. The vaults are decorated with Baroque frescoes by Josef Wäg of Bor. Between 2011 and 2020, the ceiling paintings, the interior decoration and the furnishings were restored there. In 2021, a Baroque bell was also restored and rehung in the church tower.
Culture and History
Dubec was first mentioned in 1357 and is an old Slavic settlement in the southern Tachov region. The rural farmstead No. 6 also preserves a piece of regional architectural history: during its renovation, the original floor plan, including a smoke kitchen, was retained.
Landscape and Trails
Dubec is surrounded on all sides by fields or pastures. A European cycle route runs through the village.
Geographical Location
Dubec lies on the road between Bělá nad Radbuzou and Bor and on the Domažlice–Planá railway line. At the level of the wider municipality, the educational trail “Charcoal Kilns and Water Mills” starts and ends at the railway station in Třemešné.
Other places at the same higher administrative level include Milíře, Brod Nad Tichou, Kostelec U Stříbra, Cebiv, Kšice, Benešovice, Trpísty and Lom U Tachova.
