Kostelec U Stříbra: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kostelec U Stříbra is presented here through the Alfrédov golf resort: it covers 78 hectares, is situated in a picturesque landscape with wooded areas and numerous bodies of water, and is crossed through its centre by a centuries-old avenue of lime trees.

History

The history of Alfrédov, which once belonged to Kladruby Monastery, dates back to the 12th century. Alfréd I. Windischgrätz bought the Alfrédov estate in 1825 and renamed the village of Všetice Alfrédov.

The Alfrédov agricultural estate also preserves historic structures: it has a rectangular courtyard, single-storey farm buildings on both sides, and a two-storey residential building dating approximately from the late 18th century. The complex also includes a newly restored small château, a striking fountain, and a large park area.

Culture

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Nedražice stands on the edge of the settlement and is well maintained. The hexagonal building, covered by a dome with a lantern, was built around 1750; wall paintings have been preserved inside.

A Baroque statue of the Madonna has been preserved at the later remodelled gate of the château in Nedražice. The core of the château probably dates back to a fortress mentioned in the first half of the 14th century.

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas and Saint Adalbert in Ostrov u Stříbra was built between 1729 and 1756; its tower was added later.

Golf

A round on the Alfrédov golf course can be booked at the club reception. The golf course opened to the public on 2 September 2000.
