Trpísty: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Trpísty combines an exceptional Baroque chateau with distinctive landscapes and designated cycling routes. The focal point is Zámek Trpísty Chateau, which stands on the site of a medieval fortress belonging to the Lords of Gutštejn. It was built in 1729 according to plans by the architect Jakub Auguston the Younger for Prosper ze Sinzendorfu, the owner of the estate.

Culture and history

Zámek Trpísty Chateau is considered an outstanding example of High Baroque architecture in West Bohemia and is also part of the broader context of Central European Baroque architecture of the 18th century. The chateau includes the Chapel of Our Lady of Help, which houses a painting of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary. Trpísty village square is also home to a central polygonal masonry chapel.

Cycling routes

From Trpísty village square, cycle route 2214 continues along a dirt track above the valley towards Sviňomazy. Zámek Trpísty Chateau is also one of the sights along the “Úterský potok až po Trpísty” cycling route.

Nature and landscape

The Zámek Trpísty complex includes a chateau garden and a park. The regional RBC Trpísty biocentre extends partly into the municipality of Trpísty and includes riparian vegetation, meadows and forests. Along its entire northeastern boundary, the administrative area of Trpísty also includes a section of the Úterský potok canyon.

In the municipality of Trpísty, the ecological corridor of the Úterský potok includes, among other features, natural river channels and their riparian vegetation, wetlands with marsh thistles, alluvial forests, rocky vegetation, bilberry pine forests and acidophilous beech forests. The individual components are predominantly only partially functional, although locally they are fully functional.

Viči hora is a mountain in the area around Trpísty. Two hills are also located in the immediate vicinity of Trpísty: Sviňomazský vrch, also called Trpísty-Sviňomazy, and Na Pasekách, also called Únehle.
