Líně: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Líně, the documented history dates back to 1115: that year, the place was mentioned for the first time in a document of Kladruby Monastery. A special memorial site is the Military Aviators Memorial, which commemorates the activities of the 5th Fighter Squadron and features a MiG-19 PM fighter aircraft.

Historical Traces

The population of Líně is believed to have originally been engaged not only in agriculture but also in fishpond management and basket weaving. The mining monument on Sulkov has been renovated.

Routes and Events

The Military Aviators Memorial is located directly on cycle route 2271 and the Líňská okružní trasa. This is a twelve-kilometre circular route around Líně, established in 2012 by the Municipality of Líně together with the Líně local branch of the KČT.

Every year, the Líně local branch of the Club of Czech Tourists organises three major tourist events in Líně. The Líňský maraton is a recurring hiking and cycling day; the 39th edition was scheduled for 9 May 2026. Members of the Líně KČT local branch pursue hiking, cycling tourism and ski tourism.

Sport and Water

With an area of 3.75 hectares, Okružinka (U Křížků) in Líně forms the RADBUZA 1 C/R fishing district; fishing is permitted there. The Líně Sports Complex has an outdoor swimming pool and offers sports, music events, festivals and barbecue facilities. Sport fishing is available at Hráz-Sulkov.

The hills of Šibeniční vrch [Úherce u Nýřan] and Volský vrch [Nová Ves u Plzně] are located in the immediate vicinity of Líně. Further afield in the region are Radyně Mountain and Berdovna Mountain. The church “Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral” is also located in the vicinity of Líně.
