Bdeneves: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Bdeněves combines a distinctive village chapel, early historical traces and a location on the Mže River. At the centre of the village, on the village square along a local road, stands the Chapel of St Florian. The single-nave chapel dates from the second half of the 18th century and is a protected cultural monument. In front of it stands a stone cross dating from 1889.

Culture and history

The history of the place can be traced back to 1197 in written sources: Bdeněves is already mentioned in documents of Kladruby Monastery. Finds in the Bdeněves–Za Školou archaeological area date back even further. They provide evidence from prehistory, the Linear Pottery culture, the Schusseriedská culture, the Bronze Age and Hallstatt period, the Nynická culture, the Early Hallstatt period, the early Roman Imperial period, as well as the Middle Ages and modern era, including the Early Middle Ages.

River and cycle path

Bdeněves is situated on the Mže River. The cycle path from Prague to Paris passes through the village. The section between Bdeněves and Město Touškov is paved and includes a footbridge over the Mže River.

Landscape

There are two hills in the immediate surroundings of Bdeněves: “(Čemínské lesy) [Újezd nade Mží]” and Dobrák [Nýřany - Doubrava]. In the wider regional area, there are also the mountains Berdovna and Radyně.

Cultural surroundings

“Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral”, a church, is located in the vicinity of Bdeněves. The wider regional area also includes Novy Dvur Monastery and the Church of Svatý Martin.
