Dobříč: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Dobříč lies along the 63 km Baroko III cycling route. In and around the village, trails, landscapes, sports facilities and traces of the local ochre deposits exist side by side.

Activities

The “From Dobříč to the Berounka” tour begins in Dobříč and leads via Koryta, Čivice and Kaceřov. The Jarovská naučná stezka educational trail is also located in the surrounding area, with 11 stops and a length of approximately 10 km. The Jarovská naučná stezka follows a circular route and has a detour to the Rozhledna Radost lookout tower.

The Dobříč sports and leisure complex, located on the grounds behind the school, offers football, tennis, nohejbal, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball and a children’s playground. An outdoor swimming pool is located on the western edge of the built-up area of the Dobříč ZSJ.

Nature

Dobříč lies on the edge of the Plaská pahorkatina uplands; the surrounding countryside is suitable for relaxation, walks and active leisure activities.

Culture

Local sights in Dobříč include a timber-built granary known as a “roubený špýchar” and the birthplace of the painter Václav Karel. The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Dobříč has older origins, was originally dedicated to John the Baptist and was remodelled in the Baroque style after 1700.

The programme of events in the municipality of Dobříč includes, among other things, a “pouť” pilgrimage festival and beer festivals.

History

Natural ochre from the Dobříč deposit was used as a pigment for façade and artists’ paints. Mining of ochre began near the so-called Bílé jámy at the end of the 19th century.
