Culture and History

The Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist in Tuněchody dates back to 1350. It is a single-nave, rectangular building with a five-sided closed presbytery. The Church of St. George is also located in the vicinity of Tuněchody.

In the southern part of Habrov, there is a listed prehistoric hillfort dating from the Late Neolithic.

Nature and Landscape

Part of the Habrov Nature Reserve lies within the cadastral area of Tuněchody. The nature reserve protects rare thermophilous plant communities in an oak-hornbeam forest with shrub margins, meadow clearings and wetlands.

Cycle Route 4112 passes through Tuněchody. The Chrudimka River flows in the immediate vicinity of Tuněchody. The nearby surroundings include Na Kamenci Hill [Ostřešany], Stropinský vrch Hill [Úhřetická Lhota] and the hill (Turyň) [Kočí]. Bučina Mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Tuněchody.

The Tuněchody railway stop is located approximately 1 km south of the village.
