Kočí: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The wooden bridge connecting the church in Kočí with the village is one of the oldest surviving covered wooden bridges in the Czech Republic. It is 18 metres long and spans the wetland between the church and the road.
Culture
The Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle in Kočí was built in 1397 at the expense of Queen Sophie. In 2010, it was added to the list of national cultural monuments. Wall paintings were discovered in the nave in 1899.
Two bells hang in the wooden belfry of the Church of Saint Bartholomew: the older one dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and the younger one dedicated to Saint Lawrence. The pilgrimage mass at the Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle is celebrated on the Sunday around 24 August.
The Kočí Firefighting Museum displays historical and contemporary firefighting artefacts such as helmets, axes, hoses and uniforms. It has more than 524 m² of covered exhibition space and can be visited at any time by prior telephone arrangement.
Getting around
The “Kočí,,kostel” bus stop is assigned to fare zone 702. Parking is available at the Church of Saint Bartholomew in Kočí or at the municipal office.
The 21-kilometre cycle route “Za loutkami do Chrudimi” passes through Kočí. The 51-kilometre cycle route “Na Chlumek a Košumberk” includes Kočí as one of its stops.
The “Cyklovýlet Kočí, Slatiňany, Chrudim” cycle tour leads from Kočí to Slatiňany via a minor road. From Slatiňany, it then follows a blue-marked hiking trail along the Chrudimka River to Chrudim.
