Skuteč: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

Památník V. Nováka includes the composer’s preserved study, a music room with a piano, and a museum room about his life and work, with a particular connection to Skuteč. The Regionální muzeum Skuteč is partially accessible. Since 2000, Rodný dům V. J. Tomáška has also served as a permanent memorial to V. Tomášek.

History

Kostel Božího těla is a single-nave Gothic church built in 1391. In Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie, the historic details include a Renaissance sandstone pulpit from 1560 to 1570, a tin baptismal font from 1318, and fragments of early 16th-century wall paintings in the presbytery.

Mariánský sloup features statues of Saint Wenceslas, Saint Joseph, Saint Florian and Saint Ludmila; in the centre stands an Immaculate Virgin on a globe. Zvěřinův dům is a late Gothic burgher house with a stone portal from the first half of the 16th century and is probably the oldest house in Skuteč. Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého is a sandstone statue from 1747, located in a niche of house no. 43 on V. Nováka Street.

Žulová stezka Horkami is a 4.5-kilometre educational trail with 17 stops in the area around Skuteč, passing abandoned or flooded granite quarries. Along the route are historic facilities from quarry operations, educational and play elements, as well as rest areas. The trail also includes videos and augmented-reality applications.
