Prachovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Above Prachovice, the Železné hory Geopark created the “Budka” lookout installation. Through its cut-out circles, visitors can see interesting features in the surrounding landscape. The “Budka” also offers a short excursion tip connected with the long freight cableway that once ran from Prachovice.

Landscape

The Seč Reservoir, built on the Chrudimka River, lies near Prachovice. Bučina and Krkanka, two mountains, are located in the immediate vicinity. The hills “(U Kalicha) [Kostelec u H.Městce]” and “(Na Rašavech) [Bojanov-Hrbokov]” are also situated there.

Nature and Quarry

The “Kolem prachovického lomu” educational trail is a circular route that can be started either in Prachovice or in Vápenný Podol. It has been extended to a length of 7.5 kilometres. At the entrance to the Prachovice quarry, the main lookout offers views of several extraction levels and the operation of heavy machinery. In addition, the lookout is intended to allow several extraction levels and the operation of heavy machinery to be observed; blasting should be possible from a safe distance when announced in advance by a siren.

Culture and History

The wider regional surroundings of Prachovice are home to Kačina Chateau and the Church of St. George. In Prachovice, the “Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary” was ceremonially consecrated on 8 September 1891. As early as around 1888, the Municipality of Prachovice and its representatives decided to build a municipal chapel for worship at their own expense.
