Culture and History

The Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in Honbice is a branch church. It was remodeled in 1881 in the Neo-Gothic style by the architect F. Schmoranz and has been listed among the cultural monuments of the Czech Republic since 1958.

The statue of Jan Žižka was designed by František Bílek in 1912. At the same time, it serves as a memorial to the fellow citizens who fell in the Second World War.

Libanice has also been mentioned in written records since 1472. The war memorial there was unveiled in July 1930. During the ceremonial unveiling of the memorial in Libanice, soil from the battlefields of Zborov, Terronu, and Doss Alto was also laid down.

Water and Landscape

The Ježděnec pond lies on the northwestern edge of Honbice. The Ježděnka stream flows out of the pond and drains Honbice.
