Přestavlky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Přestavlky tells its story through more than just a single building: the Jewish cemetery, château park, chapel and Baroque statues mark different historical traces in the village.

Jewish History

Jewish settlement in Přestavlky dates back to the first third of the 18th century. The former synagogue in Přestavlky was converted into a residential building in 1920, after the end of the Jewish community.

The Přestavlky Jewish cemetery was established in 1844 on land acquired by the estate owner František Xaver Adolf von Auersperg. It is freely accessible and lies in fields north of the village, 400 metres west of the road to Hrochův Týnec. Today, only around three dozen tombstones remain there. The site has been cleared; ongoing maintenance is ensured and must continue.

Château and Park

Přestavlky Château stands in a park on the northern edge of the village. It is a plain, single-storey rectangular building with two side wings projecting towards the west. The château park is accessible year-round.

The château itself is currently not open to the public and serves as a children's home with a school, a centre for educational care and a children's educational department.

Sacred Monuments

In the centre of Přestavlky, near St Anne's Chapel, stands a Baroque statue of Saint Florian dating from approximately 1701. St Anne's Chapel is dedicated to Saint Anne; it was consecrated in gratitude for donated gifts.

The original statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was stolen. On the original pedestal at the exit from Přestavlky towards Rosice stands a free reconstruction made of artificial stone, with the original dimensions.

Geographical Location

Přestavlky lies on Road II/355 between Hrochův Týnec and Chrast. Road III/3551 leads from the municipality towards Zájezd and Řestoky; there is also a local road towards Trojovice.
