Ronov Nad Doubravou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Houses

Ronov nad Doubravou combines a clearly defined historic townscape with the landscape of the Doubrava Valley. Chittussi Square measures 120 × 100 metres and is bordered by 27 houses. Together with distinctive sacred buildings, Baroque façades and individual memorials, this creates a townscape that can be appreciated through specific architectural details.

Culture

The present-day Church of Saint Lawrence was built between 1849 and 1852 in the Neo-Baroque style. Inside, it has ceiling frescoes by Jaroslav Major that copy Italian originals depicting scenes from the life of Saint Lawrence.

House No. 25 on Svatokřížská Street has a late Baroque gable with a niche whose rear wall is decorated with a shallow relief of the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus. Also on Svatokřížská Street, visitors can see the Baroque gable of the Kaplanka. At the lower end of Zámecká Street stand the sandstone statues of Saint John of Nepomuk and Saint Procopius; they are examples of Baroque sculpture from the 18th century. Ronov nad Doubravou also has a memorial plaque commemorating the musicologist Dobroslav Orel.

Nature

Doubrava Nature Park protects the deep valley of the Doubrava River between Spačice and Ronov nad Doubravou. The nature park features steep valley slopes, a stony riverbed and mostly wooded slopes with remnants of beech and ravine maple forests.

Mount Krkanka is located in the vicinity of Ronov nad Doubravou. Also nearby are the hill Na Spravedlnosti [Ronov nad Doubravou] and Višňovka Hill [Podhořany u Ronova]. Mount Bučina is located in the surrounding area of Ronov nad Doubravou.

Railway line S27 between Čáslav and Třemošnice serves both Ronov nad Doubravou and Ronov nad Doubravou zastávka.

Moravany Castle has a Neo-Baroque balcony and a representative late Baroque masonry theatrical gate at the main entrance. It is a detached late Baroque building from the end of the 18th century and belongs to the type of rural villa. After a fire in the 1930s, it was rebuilt and reduced by one storey.
