Orel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Tři Bubny hill rises north of Orel. The eastern section of the Tři Bubny fortification walls was declared a natural and historic monument in 1923.
Culture and History
The Gothic cemetery church of St. George stands on Tři Bubny hill at an altitude of 302 m. The church is first mentioned in 1349 in a document issued by the first Archbishop of Prague, Arnošt of Pardubice. It contains 15 stone epitaphs commemorating deceased members of the families that owned the Orel estate.
The statue of Our Lady of Victory in Orel is a Baroque sculpture from the 18th century. A copy of the statue returned to the center of Orel in 2025. In addition, a granite monument in Orel bears the names of 16 inhabitants who did not return from the First World War.
Only faint terrain elevations remain of the former Orel fortress on a circular hill more than 30 m across. Except on the north side, the fortress was surrounded by a moat.
